University Fitness Facilities Policy

All users of the Kane Student Fitness Center must abide by the University Fitness Facilities Policy, rules, and regulations.

 

Warning

Always consult a physician before beginning any exercise program
Keep body and clothing free from and clear of all moving parts
Inspect machine prior to use - Do Not use if it appears damaged or inoperable
Do Not attempt to fix a broken or jammed machine
Use the machine only for the intended use
Be sure that the weight pin is completely inserted if applicable
Do Not use if guards are missing or damaged

 

Kane Center Rules and Regulations

Fitness Center:

  • All participants must follow CUA fitness policy and rules and regulations
  • Student ID is required to access the fitness center - Current CUA students may use the Kane Center
  • Students must have read and signed a fitness center waiver before use of facility
  • CUA is NOT responsible for any lost or stolen property
  • Use of cubbies is AT YOUR OWN RISK
  • Proper athletic attire must be worn
  • Shirts must be worn at all times - No midriff-baring shirts
  • Closed-toed athletic footwear must be worn at all times
  • Water must be in re-sealable containers
  • Sport beverages, food and glass containers are prohibited - No gum please
  • Use of gym and equipment is AT YOUR OWN RISK
  • Injury may occur if equipment is not used properly
  • Please wipe down equipment and mats after each use
  • Return all equipment back to the original location
  • Please do not drop weights - a spotter is available at the front desk
  • There is a 30 minute time limit for the cardiovascular equipment when people are waiting
  • Staff reserves the right to inform patrons how to use the equipment properly
  • Profanity, arguing, fighting or any type of harassment is not permitted
  • These rules and regulations are to provide students with a safe, clean and quality facility

 

Sport Court:

  • Sport Court is for CUA students only
  • Do not hang on rim or volleyball net
  • No glass containers or pets allowed on court
  • Proper athletic footwear and equipment required
  • No bicycles, skateboarding, or rollerblading allowed
  • Players’ actions must promote a safe and sportsmanlike environment
  • Fighting is PROHIBITED
  • Court Hours: Monday – Sunday 7:30am – 11:45pm
  • No loitering on court when court is closed
  • Basketballs and volleyballs available for checkout during Fitness Center hours & must be returned by closing time
  • The Department of Public Safety has set up Closed Circuit Television Cameras (CCTV) that are being used to monitor and record activities in public spaces on campus and the periphery of campus. The purpose of the monitoring is to deter crime and to protect the safety and property of the campus community. Anyone with questions about this monitoring should contact the Department of Public Safety.
